We’re looking for a motivated and relationship-driven Outside Sales - Account Manager to join our team. This role focuses on customer development and management, building long-term partnerships with manufacturers, and driving sales of automated systems, packaging equipment, consumables, and technical services.
Job Description
Account & Relationship Management
- Serve as the primary point of contact for assigned customer accounts, maintaining regular communication to ensure satisfaction and identify evolving needs.
- Develop a deep understanding of each customer’s business, production environment, and long-term goals to position Ambrose as a trusted partner.
- Manage and execute strategic account plans focused on retention, growth, and value creation.
- Conduct on-site visits and business reviews to ensure project alignment and customer engagement.
Sales Development
- Identify, qualify, and pursue new opportunities within existing accounts and target markets.
- Present solutions and proposals in coordination with inside sales, customer service, applications engineering, and vendor partners.
- Lead quoting and proposal efforts, ensuring accuracy and timely delivery.
- Maintain a healthy pipeline in CRM (Salesforce), tracking opportunities and forecasting accurately.
Collaboration & Communication
- Partner with internal teams (engineering, service, and operations) to ensure seamless project execution and post-sale support.
- Communicate feedback from customers regarding equipment and system performance, service, and improvement opportunities.
- Represent Ambrose professionally at trade shows, on-site demonstrations, and customer meetings.
Customer Retention & Growth
- Monitor account performance and satisfaction metrics, taking proactive steps to resolve issues or risks.
- Identify cross-selling and up-selling opportunities across Ambrose’s solution portfolio.
- Ensure customer needs are met with prompt, professional, and solution-oriented follow-up.
Qualifications
- 3–5 years of outside sales or account management experience (industrial automation, packaging, or related manufacturing preferred).
- Strong relationship-building and communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Proven track record of managing a book of business and delivering results in a technical sales environment.
- Familiarity with CRM systems (Salesforce preferred).
- Self-motivated, organized, and comfortable with frequent travel (30–50%).
