The Project Engineer will complete integration of sold projects through collaboration with all internal Ambrose teams, manufacturers and customers. This includes equipment setup and testing in the Ambrose IAT (Integrator Acceptance Test) facility and or FAT (Factory Acceptance Test) at various vendor manufacturing facilities as well as commissioning and training services at customer facilities.
Team Interaction Responsibilities:
- Work with execution engineering manager, project manager, execution technician and customers
- Report directly to the Engineering Manager, Project Implementation Team
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Collaborate and participate in project handoff from application engineers
- Evaluate execution requirements including IAT space and FAT requirements
- Collaborate with customer to develop and or confirm IQ, OQ, and PQ requirements.
- Build out project schedules and provide project progress maintenance.
- Work with project admins and customer response team for the procurement of equipment and ancillary components
- Work with execution technician and Ambrose tech services to receive and install equipment in the IAT facility when applicable
- Setup equipment and or work with execution technician to apply setup parameters and programming in preparation for IQ, OQ and PQ.
- Upon completion of setup and preliminary testing, finalize schedule of IQ, OQ and PQ with customer, perform and document IQ, OQ and PQ. NOTE: PQ may be performed after installation at customer site.
- Acquire customer acceptance of IQ, OQ and any completed and measured testing prior to shipment
- Work with execution technician and Ambrose tech services to tear down equipment and prepare for shipment
- Work with Ambrose logistics to coordinate and execute shipment
- Coordinate installation dates with internal and external resources
- Site project management of installation when applicable
- Complete onsite setup, commissioning, PQ and customer training
- Acquire customer acceptance and sign off
- Schedule and complete a project post mortem, document any identify any required changes processes if applicable
Required and Desirable Skills/Abilities:
- Knowledge of PLC controls, electronics, sensors, solenoids, actuators, pneumatics and mechanical systems necessary to comprehend and select best equipment for a particular project requirement.
- Proficient with AutoCAD 2D
- SolidWorks experience is desired, but not required
- Excellent written and verbal communication and presentation skills.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite, Excel, PowerPoint, Word and PDF.
- Preferred knowledge of project management software (Wrike preferred, training provided)
- General knowledge and use of common shop tools
- Fanuc and or UR Robotics programming experience is a plus
Education and Experience:
- Bachelors degree in Engineering is preferred.
- Four years of relevant experience, preferably in applications or project engineering role, highly preferred.
- Four years of relevant experience, preferably in PLC controls and controls narratives
Physical Requirements:
- Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
- Must be able to lift 50 pounds at a time.
- Must be able to access and navigate all areas of an industrial facility.
