Are you losing productivity and wasting a lot of time manually stretch-wrapping products? Or perhaps your products are suffering damage during shipment because your present wrapping system is inadequate or inferior. In either case, you should look into the benefits and economics of using Ambrose stretch wrappers.
What Are Stretch Wrappers Used For?
Stretch wrappers are used to automatically or semi-automatically wrap products loaded onto pallets prior to shipping. The goal is to stretch wrap the products in such a way as to ensure their integrity during transit. While there are multiple ways to do this, Ambrose stretch wrappers perform this service quickly and economically while giving the products a professional look.
How Do You Use a Stretch Wrapper?
A stretch wrapper is used to wrap a loaded pallet from top to bottom. It is wrapped with enough force to maintain the integrity of the shipment during transit. This is referred to as the containment force and is dependent on the strength of the stretch film, the number of wraps and the force with which each wrap is applied. The containment force can be judged by hand or with a tool designed for that purpose.
Fully Automatic versus Semi-Automatic
If your shipping volume is relatively small, you may be better off with a semi-automatic stretch wrap machine. An employee will be needed to place the products to be wrapped onto a turntable adjacent to the stretch wrapper. The employee will also attach the tail of the stretch wrap to the products. Once that is done, the stretch wrapper will then wrap the products.
Fully Automatic Stretch Wrappers
If you ship a large volume of products, though, you may find it more cost effective to use fully automatic stretch wrappers. With this setup, loaded pallets are delivered to the wrapper by a conveyor system, and the fully automatic stretch wrapper unilaterally performs the wrapping
with no assistance from employees. This includes attaching the wrap and trimming the wrap at the end of the operation.
What Are the Benefits of
There are many benefits to using stretch wrappers. First is that the integrity of your products will be protected during transit. The stretch wrappers will also seal out dust and moisture. You will save on film costs and be able to wrap your products faster. This will increase your productivity and add to your bottom line.
Stretch wrappers will also increase the safety of your operation because more things will be done automatically with less employee participation. The products will be wrapped efficiently, and you will enjoy the benefits of improved inventory control.
